Strategy and implementation across channels

My name is Kim Ulrik Schaumann. I am the founder and owner of Line-of-Sight. I was born in 1961, and for 12 years I have worked with strategic communication in communications agencies and in large companies, where I held managerial positions for seven years.

My core competence is to secure that the concrete practical communication actually works and takes place. I am a consultant, and that’s pretty much being a do-er implementing and producing day-to-day communications. I also develop strategies, policies, communications plans, concepts, tools and help-functions and give relevant parties sparring, coaching and education, so that they are able to take better action on the communication they are responsible for.

A more detailed overview of my competencies:

  • Development of strategies and communications channels. In Line-of-Sight a corner stone is to develop strategies, concepts and to present ideas. As department leader in the Danske Bank Group one of my most comprehensive tasks was to develop concepts and strategies, amongst others, to head development of the group communications strategy.
  • Press communications. In Line-of-Sight I give advice on press relations and work out press strategies. Five years of hands-on experience as head of press relations in one of the 10 companies that at the time generated the most publicity in Danish media (TDC).
  • Internal communications. In the Danske Bank Group my department had the task to develop a new concept for leader communications and to make internal digital communications more effective.
  • Digital Communications (web and intranet). In Line-of-Sight I advise on digital and social media and write texts for digital communication. In the Danske Bank Group it was my responsibility as department leader to operate and develop both channels.
  • Sparring and advising top leaders. This is the focal point in Line-of-Sight. And for five years this occupied approx half my time in a at the time large international group (TDC).
  • Stakeholder communications. In Line-of-Sight I advise on and participate in public affairs dialogue with officials, politicians and others. Many years’ experience both as a comms pro and as a political and economic journalist.
  • Management, project management. Seven years’ experience as department leader.
  • Copywriting. More than 12 years’ experience as a journalist at Berlingske, Børsens (today Berlingskes) Nyhedsmagasin and Dagbladet Børsen. Also comprehensive experience from producing various texts as a comms pro.
  • Languages. Danish: Native. English: Excellent oral and in writing. German: Intermediate level in reading, understanding and speaking.
